Ocaso Torrontes 2016
About the wine
Deliciously floral and fruity Torrontes from the hills surrounding Mendoza
- Torrontes is the most famous of Argentina's white grapes, and my wine comes from a small vineyard at a very high altitude so the grapes express all the great features of this variety.
- I love making this wine and it's been an incredible journey that wouldn't have been possible without the support of the Angels, and I look forward to continuing that journey for a long time to come!
- My Torrontes is beautifully golden, with an intense aromas of peach, orange and grapefruit that make it perfect for drinking with spicy food.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Patricio Gouguenheim
- Back in the 1990s, Patricio had a hunch. And so he gave up his prosperous career as a city banker and spent his life savings on an old vineyard. Luckily his hunch was right.
- Mendoza is the head of Argentina's wine-making country. Very hot days and very cool nights mean buckets of refined, ripe fruit. It's what Argentina does best.
- One of our original winemakers, Patricio supported us at the beginning. And now we support him. And with all that history, he's kindly kept resisting any price hikes.
