Alfred's Stout

North Curry

Porter & Stout ABV 5.10%

This stout style beer honours the Great King Alfred who was king of Wessex from 871 to 899. He famously held off the Vikings at Athelney where he constructed a fort; and as the tale goes burnt the cakes of a local woman while in hiding. This is a black dry stout with a good robust flavour. A rounded body is supplied by malted and flaked barley which is balanced by the bitterness of roasted barley and Northern Brewer hops.
