Marcelo Pelleriti Malbec 2017
About the wine
Mouth-watering Malbec from 100 Parker Point winner Marcelo
-
Marcelo Pelleritti is the first Argentine winemaker to receive a perfect 100 points from Robert Parker (for his 2010 Chateau La Violette, if you’re interested) so you can be sure any wine of his will be full of oomph and personality.
- This rich, well balanced beauty boasts plum, blackcurrant and dried fruit flavours as well as a welcome lick of spiciness and refreshing acidity. Get into the true Argentine spirit and pair this with a juicy, rare steak; your tastebuds won’t know what hit them!
- We’ve had the chance to cherry-pick the best of Majestic wines to plug gaps in our range. This wine wasn’t funded by Angels, so doesn’t carry an Angel saving. But thanks to Majestic’s buying power, you still get it at a snip!

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Marcelo Pelleriti
If you love your Argentine wines, Marcelo Pelleriti of Bodega Monteviejo in Mendoza is a name you need to know. He cut his teeth in Bordeaux, perhaps the most competitive wine region in the world, and went on to achieve an impressive number of firsts…
In 2013, he scored 100 points from leading wine critic Robert Parker for his Merlot ‘Chateau La Violette 2010’... the first Argentine winemaker to receive such recognition! If that wasn’t enough he also scored 99 points for his Merlot/Cabernet Franc blend ‘Chateau Le Gay’ so you are looking at some pretty serious know-how here.
Marcelo isn’t just a talented winemaker though, he’s also an avid guitarist. In 2011 he decided to combine his two passions and ‘Wine Rock’ was born. Hosted at Bodega Monteviejo every year in May, it is a music festival that brings together wine, food, friends and rock and is considered by many to be the region's best rock festival. We think a sneaky trip to Argentina might be in order…
