Norrel Robertson La Multa Verdejo Sobre Lias 2015
About the wine
Exceptionally refined Verdejo from our Maverick Scotsman in Spain
- I had been making wine for other people in Rueda (an 8 hour round trip from where I live Aragón) for years so I finally decided to make one for myself.
- I have been fined on numerous occasions by the Guardia Civil for driving a little bit too quickly on this journey. La Multa means the fine in Spanish, it is my way of getting a little bit back of the cash I have paid to the Spanish authorities during my long, driving winemaking hours on the road
- I deliberately went out to make a style that is a little bit more reserved and complex than most Spanish Verdejos'. The wine has more mouthfeel, less acidity and a long mineral finish. A great match with goats cheese salads, shellfish, seafood.

Serving advice
Serve at 8-10°C.
Food match
In Spain I would drink this with deep fried squid, fried anchovies and garlic chili prawns. Goats cheese salad, sautéed white fish, oysters, smoked salmon, and lighter foods flavored with fresh herbs would also hot the mark!!
