Casal de Ventozela Vinho Verde 2017
About the wine
Crisp, fruity Vinho Verde made with Arinto grapes
-
If you like your dry Rieslings or Chenin Blancs then let us introduce you to Arinto. It’s one of Portugal’s oldest native grape varieties, widely loved for its crisp minerality and crunchy freshness.
- Delicate flavours of soft citrus fruits, melons and green apples, along with hints of blossom and white pepper make up this crisp, dry Vinho Verde. If picnics are on the horizon then stock up on this one pronto as they are a match made in heaven!

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Fernando Moura
At the tender age of just 5, Fernando’s grandfather took him into the small cellar under his house and together they made his very first wine. From that day on, he was hooked. He says it’s all down to his grandfather's passion for nature and vineyards that he decided to follow in his footsteps!
It’s been 21 years since he became a winemaker (well, 37 if you count back to that very first one!), and Fernando is never happier than when he is out in the field taking care of his grapes. He’s never been one for an office job… preferring to leave ‘paperwork’ and ‘numbers’ to others, and we don’t blame him!
Mention Arinto or Alvarinho and watch his face light up. They are his favourite varieties thanks to their ability to make both light, crisp wines but also ones with structure and great aging ability. To him, they are the whole package!
