It’s no accident Stephen’s an all-time Naked legend. You'd struggle to find many winemakers making better kit at £6.99 a bottle, and this Merlot is no exception.
For starters it has one of the most intense black cherry fruit flavours that taste as if they've been whisked up with a shot of espresso and liquid dark chocolate. Add a hint of spice to the finish and you've got one hell of a mouthful of red wine.
What's more, because its backed by our Angels, it's not only a great glass, but a pretty good bargain to boot.

The Stellenbosch sunshine, gentle coastal breezes and mineral rich soil make for conditions so exceptional that we wouldn't blame any self-respecting Syrah enthusiast for coming over a little bit giddy. These single-vineyard Syrah grapes are ripened to perfection, resulting in impressively refined but intense flavours.
Rudi rounds off his carefully crafted process with 18 months of French oak barrel maturation to capture that signature Syrah smoky charm. Not one corner has been cut and the proof is very much in the bottle!

This wine is extra special to me. It was blended with a group of lovely Angels at the Cutler’s Hall, Sheffield... which also happens to be my birthplace!
Boy did they do a good job. The result is this delicious 3 grape blend, predominantly unwooded Grenache with a dollop of Syrah and just a smidgeon of Mourvedre.
The Grenache brings ripe and expressive fruit, think freshly picked raspberries sprinkled with cracked black pepper and a dribble of molasses. The Syrah adds weight and concentration, whilst the small percentage of oak aged Mourvèdre adds an extra dimension of savoury, spicy complexity.

We’ve made $5 million available to help struggling wineries to survive and come out the other side of this Covid crisis. The closure of bars and restaurants across the globe has been a disaster for the independent winemakers who supply them. The little guys, without connections to the big supermarkets, are the ones who are suffering the most.
When Covid hit, South Africa’s strict lockdown dealt a huge blow to his small family winery. They previously sold 90% of their wine to restaurants and bars around the world - so the sudden global closures hit them hard. Reenen turned to us, and in one single order we rescued half of his winery’s annual production. It's been a total game changer for Reenen’s small business.
A full-bodied, ripe red, with concentrated plum and blackberry flavours, matured in posh French oak to give it an extra kick of spice and luxuriousness. Will turn your Tuesday night spag bol into a Michelin-worthy experience.

Thanks to Angels asking for it in the UK, we managed to get the Angel funding to add it to our Naked range!
Our delicate coral pink rosé is made from the Grenache grape. Each mouthful is packed with delicious strawberry and raspberry fruit with a refreshingly dry and crisp finish. It's the perfect summertime sipper.

For small winemakers like Cerina, it's been totally devastating. The best way we can support them is by drinking their wines - luckily we know a few Angels who might be able to help...
Cerina is a super talented winemaker who knows a secret that few SA winemakers are yet to catch onto. Whilst working out in the West Coast bushland of South Africa, she discovered a handful of old vines - sitting at a dizzying 400m altitude with cool Atlantic breezes, these vines were built to make premium quality wines. Fact.
This delicate pale blush rosé says it all, with its bright fruit flavours of grapefruit, watermelon and a touch of strawberry. The most refreshing mood boost you'll ever have.

You won’t find a winemaker more experienced, or frankly more passionate about his wines than Stephen. So when he said he wanted to make a classy Reserve Chardonnay, we knew it would be a bit special.
Thanks to Angel funding, Stephen was able to hand-harvest the grapes and age them in the finest French oak casks, giving his Reserve Chard the elegance of a white Burgundy, with a dollop of South African sunshine for extra flavour.
His full-bodied Chardonnay is chock full of zesty lemons, limes and grapefruit all wrapped up in a velvety coat of toasty, vanilla spices. It’s refined, it’s lavish, it’s sumptuous... perfect for a night on the sofa with a good movie and a cuddle.

Montagu is a secret, off-the-beaten-path winemakers' paradise, once known for sweet wine and brandy. Reenen Borman is the trailblazing winemaker who uncovered a gold mine of stunning parcels in the underappreciated region. With Angel funding, he's raising the profile of this promising South African region - and Angels can say that they helped put it on the map.
When Reenen's mate had just finished picking premium Montagu grapes for one of South Africa's iconic wines (which goes for £36 a pop), he set aside a small batch for Reenen. He was blown away by the grapes' quality, grown on rare 30-year-old vines, and decided to make it into something special, just for Angels.
Reenen took Colombard (a grape typically used for brandy) and showcased it as a solid support act for his fruity Chenin Blanc blend. The result is a mouthwatering explosion of fruit salad flavours wrapped up with a fresh citrus zippiness – a deliciously quaffable taste bud refresher.

The cool climate of the Elgin Valley produces some of the tastiest Sauvignon Blanc South Africa has to offer, so when Rudi spotted an idyllic vineyard in need of a winemaker he couldn't believe his luck.
Without all of your help this wine would never have seen the inside of a wine bottle, destined instead to be sold off as 'bulk wine' dissapearing into a massive multi-origin, nameless blend - now that would be criminal!
The North Beach is harvested early in the early hours of the morning to preserve the grapes lightness of touch. This is offset expertly by the fresh cut grass aromas and bright pop of tropical fruit on the palette... YUM

To make this Chardonnay, I sourced grapes from cooler climates around the Western Cape of South Africa. The grapes from these areas benefit from long cool summers that helps heighten and define its flavour.
These cooler climates are hugely sought after by winemakers, and as you would expect the prices for those grapes are higher. Naked funding has allowed me to secure high quality grapes for several vintages, so that Angels can enjoy consistently high quality Chardonnay for years to come.
The Cutler Chardonnay has a lovely freshness to it, apple, pear and peach flavours and an elegance and finesse that comes from 50% of the wine sitting in oak, and the other half left un-oaked.
