- Arco Laarman is one of the most experienced and well-connected winemakers in the Western Cape. For 17 years, he made wines for one of South Africa’s most iconic wineries, the award-winning Paarl Estate Glen Carlou, where he gave up his job as Head Winemaker in 2016, to go it alone.
- Arco’s speciality is seeking out the very best parcels of grapes from all over South Africa, and making wines that showcase the regions they’re from. The Cluster Series is his way of bringing together quality grapes, his wine making skills, his family and friends in the industry.
- The main flavours of this Pinot Gris are lime, lemon, pear, nectarine and apple. With nuanced honey notes, floral aromas should appear with a bit of aging and almost a salt-style minerality pulls through at the finish. Arco's favourite with this wine would be Portuguese prawn cakes, a lovely clam chowder with sourdough bread and even simple fish and chips or fried calamari heads with a lovely tartar sauce.
