"Being as green as possible in my vineyards is very important to me. We try and use a very limited number of 'products' in the fields, and we also green harvest in order to optimize the quality of the grapes and minimize production per hectare. Finally, we use a technique called 'effeuillage' - the reduction of leafs to increase the sun and light exposure of the grapes. We have a great team here at Villebois, with Thierry Coutant who runs and supervises the vineyards, and Pascal Gibault, our other resident winemaker."

I usually enjoy a Malbec, but I felt that the Cabernet Franc added a slight bitterness that I wasn't keen on. <br /> <br />The only thing I can say about this is that it would probably stand up well to highly-spiced food.

I bought 4 bottles and have opened 3 so far - ALL TOTALLY UNDRINKABLE!
(All the whites i've had from Villebois have been excellent, however).

Whether it was the bottle i received i dont know but one sip and I knew it was only fit for paint stripping!. Wife insisted leaving it and trying it again in few hours but still have put better quality vinegar on my chips. <br />

An interesting and complicated wine. There is a lot going on and the Malbec is strongly in evidence without being overly harsh. A wine to think about while you drink it.
