Comment on: Sibarita's Selection Reisling 2008
Clear and crisp with a pleasant acidity. I don't drink that much white but I might well have this again.

Sorry but not at all enamoured of this one. I left aside the memories of my dalliances with Piesporter, Blue Nun, Blacktower and Liebfraumilch.....and tried to taste it with an open mind.
Quite acidic, slightly effervescent but not to my taste, the flavour reminded me of hydrocarbon products and l tried not to think of some of those Austrian practices a few years back!!!
Very pale wine, flavour is all up front and little if any lingering taste/flavour.
Sorry, l accept this is all down to taste, and l am one usually optimistic, but not an experience l will rush to repeat.
I love top German Riesling but Chilean varieties are very different: intense and with diesel notes. Not for me I'm afraid but others will like it.

Well, this was a great and delightful surprise. For me Riesling is the finest of white wine grapes, and this is an exquisite example: disciplined, intense, complex. The dominant flavour is grapefruit, but that makes it sound like an overblown Australian, and it is anything but. It is much more European in style -- with the light body of Mosel, but the intensity and dryness of Alsace. One small quibble: 13.5% alcohol?? Who needs that kind of headache? But on the whole, a treat!
