I opened this bottle after work one day last week and it slipped down an absolute treat. This wine would be delicious with a big, juicy steak or with strong cheese, but worked pretty well on its own after a ropey day in the office!

Superb wine. Lovely and smooth and still a full bodied wine.

Another fine wine from Jasper Raats but not quite up to Lula. Rich, spicey and full bodied.

Trying to give 4 stars.Loved the Lula , big, bold red wine. However the Rudera is also good but entirely more subtle. Vanilla and spicey notes and smooth to drink. An elegant syrah.

Meet the Winemaker

Jasper Raats

"Wine is in my blood - usually literally! I grew up with wine, tasting it with my dad and working amongst my Godfather's vines. My big brother, Bruwer, is also a winemaker and my ancestors were Hugenots from the Loire Valley. Winemaking is more of a hobby than a job to me. I love what I do. The soil, to feel the sun, to freeze your ass off during winter pruning, to smell and taste in the wine the flavours you were hoping for. I would definitely consider myself a 'green' winemaker. I try to be as natural as possible. I am constantly working towards fully sustainable practices and aim to be 100% organic as soon as possible."
