I really enjoyed this wine last night as the entree to my Christmas premium wine drinks fest. Lovely and fruity, blackcurrants being the most predominant. I would say that at the price though, I'd go for Jock's wine in preference and save a few pounds too. A very good wine, but at the price and relative to some others on NW, it needs to be!

Wow. As per usual I had no idea what it cost when I opened iit. Drank it with Roast Duck and marmalade sauce. Perfect match. Also had it with some strong cheeses. Normally red wine with cheese is a disaster - this time it worked. Fantastic Italian HOT FIELDS bouquet and quite rough and peppery. Not rough in a bad way, just wish i had left it another 3 years to mellow. Rats - only bought one bottle!!!!

we have waited ages for an occasion to open this Pindarie and had this with a superb chargrilled angus steak with our local garrison cmdr - we were expecting a strong shiraz but actually its only 5% syrah and 70% tempranillo (ie the rioja grape) and 25% Sangiovese never-the-less this number this blend works very well it has a great depth of flavour (deep purple hues) and colour packed full of dark berries esp cherries with hints of chocolate and spice, (with a leathery nose)- not overpowering but still warming with long finish

strongly reccommend 9 out of 10

would certainly buy again

What a superb result! I need some more!!!! Not surprising, it is a mixed grape...

Tempranillo (70%) and the high acid Sangiovese (25%) combined with a small amount of Shiraz (5%), these three grapes blended together to make a VERY good wine.... the Tempranillo grape is the main grape used in the Rioja wines, but when combined with the Sangiovese and the Shiraz (one of my favourite grapes!!) it works really well.

The tannins were not at all harsh, as some can be, but the overall taste was quite soft and fruity...there is also a nice spicy taste to the wine, it was improved I think by decanting for two hours prior to drinking.

The overall taste is very much inline with Morello Cherries and plums, very nice, very drinkable, with quite a long aftertaste on the palate. This is one that I would definitely add to my collection.... the taste overall was excellent!!
