why is wine tasting to individual, so individual to the wine, to the taster and to ones surroundings? I'm sure I reviewed this wine before and gave a glowing endorsement, but not this bottle this time, don't get me wrong, it's ok but that's all. Hints of chocolate, yep can detect a little of that, rather like the chocolate incense stick which we occasionally burn in the house. Is it just me or if someone suggests to you a flavour in a wine, you then also detect it. Melted Terry's Chocolate Orange, is that what I can smell or is it seaside chocolate ice cream or am I just talking 'round spherical objects'.
This wine's ok but just not that 'in your face' that I seek.

I celebrated becoming an ArchAngel for Maria by opening a bottle of this silky, well balanced wine. I love the black fruits that come through and it's delicious with food or on its own. Sadly the '08 is now sold out so I'll just have to get some '09 :-)

A lovely wine that can be drunk easily on its own or with all food. Easy drinking, I will be buying a lot of this again!

I gave this a mediocre review first time out, however second and third bottles left me sure I'd just had an off-day, or was unfairly comparing to my fave, Shiraz.
The Carmenere 2008 is smooth, fruity and very easy to drink, and I will definitely recommend trying the 2009 ( I think 2008 is now sold out).
