" Working in the vines and winery is really rewarding. Much more rewarding than working in an office. You just go out, breath fresh air, work with your vines, and drink a bunch of delicious red wine. Tasting the fruit of your labour with friends, family, visiting strangers etc is far more fun than ever imagined."

It's good, it's good.

But don't stick it straight into your gob -- she needs some air first, ideally for at least an hour, to soften those tannins.

We drank a bottle of the 2005 last night with duck and very good it was too. Dark hedgerow fruits, firm tannins and a nice long smooth finish.
Finished the bottle off in front of a roaring log fire and it drank just as well on it's own as with food.
I'm sure I've tasted the 2006 but can't quite remember but at this price I'll be ordering a few very soon for comparison.

You might expect this to be a step down from the Proprietor's Reserve, but this is completely different.
Very smooth and with great legs, this is a classy wine!
We had it with flat bread pizza and flat bread garlic with cheese (my latest home-made delicacy). And I'm talking ultra thin "pizza bases", like you'd use for sandwich wraps or those used for snacks in European street cafes. Good Saturday night grub!
Excellent for the price. Glad I bought 6 bottles...
Cheers!
