Comment on: La Gramiere 2005

Finished the last glass of this tonight and just wanted to send a warning out to those yet to try it.

This wine is not filtered - personally, I love that in my wines as it retains a lot of it's subtle flavours. However, it does tend to leave some sediment in the wine.

So, leave the bottle to stand for a couple of hours before you drink to allow the sediment to settle. Either that, or decant.

The quality of the wine more than makes up for any sediment. To be honest, the sediment is a by-product of the way in which the wine is treated to provide such quality.

Jammy blackberry nose, nice balance, hint of smoke, longish finish, fruit aplenty, both acid and tannin in pleasing measures. Very impressive.
