Comment on: Foleys Corner Reserve Merlot 2008
On first opening I did not think I would enjoy this one as much as I did. At first it was definitely a bit acetic on the nose and palate, but left to breath for a couple of hours, what a transformation. Reasonably dry and not to heavy, the sour fruits gave way to a silky smooth vanilla finish, the nearest thing I have found to a good Rioja from down under. At £5.75 it would have been a bargain, shame I paid £10 for it and an even bigger shame it has all gone.
