Comment on: Domain Barossa Black Tongue Shiraz 2008

Having just purchased a couple of bottles of the 2010 vintage, I excitedly decided it was time to open another bottle of this. It is some considerable time since my original review which I sought out and was as follows: -

'What can I say about this? Wow, wow, wow. An absolute blockbuster. Straight from the very first mouthful to the very last drop and there was no lull inbetween. Can't wait for the advance order to come in the next few days.'

I haven't changed my opinion or rating (5 stars) of this wine in the slightest. It remains a wine which oozes quality, not overly aromatic but packing a flavoursome punch of prunes and black berries in the mouth with very subtle oak, which I particularly like. Nice finish and one which you savour. Very glad I still have another 4 bottles in my rack to look forward to!:-)

I was slightly disappointed with this wine. There was nothing wrong with it but I prefer the Yalumba Patchwork Shiraz and it is around £8 a bottle cheaper.

I was slightly disappointed with this wine. There was nothing wrong with it but I prefer the Yalumba Patchwork Shiraz and it is around £8 a bottle cheaper.
