On first opening, the overwhelming aroma is Oak..... I'll be honest, I had a sip and the oak really was there on the palate too. Walked away for a couple of hours, came back to it and it transforms. Fruit first, distinct Oak follows before you're finished off with a lovely warmth from the Syrah. Perhaps too "full on" for some, but it's right up my street!

I really like Rioja,but I am a bit concerned that when you search for Rioja on the web-site results include wines that aren't actually Rioja? Also some of your offers (e.g. the mixed Sauvignon and Rioja case) include wines which aren't Rioja?
This wine for example isn't even Tempranillo - it's Syrah / Cab Sav which is nothing like Rioja - and to cap it all its not even Spanish? Just because something is labeled "Gran Reserva" doesn't make it Rioja? Hope you're not trying to mislead customers just to jump on the "Rioja bandwagon?"

Good tasting bottle but needed at least an hour to breathe and still wasn't as good as some of the cheaper bottles we got in our mixed case. Wasn't impressed considering the price.

One of the best reds tasted this year. Would certainly buy more at around £8-£9 a bottle.
