Isabelle's Story

"My family owned this estate before the French Revolution (1789) and I have always wanted to keep this asset. Therefore, I chose to do agricultural studies and obtained a National diploma of oenology in Bordeaux and have taught oenology and winegrowing for 10 years.

I love the diversity in my job, as Confucius the Chinese philosopher once said 'Choisissez un travail que vous aimez et vous n’aurez pas à travailler un seul jour de votre vie' or to translate 'Chose a job that you like and you will not have to work a single day of your life'

My Key Winemaking philosophies are patience, self-abnegation and abandonment, courage, love and listening. We are green because being a winegrower, it is being first and foremost a FARMER and keep sensible with common sense, we do not spoil the land because it MAKES US LIVE.

We green harvest leaving 8 bunches by plant Filtration and we maintaing regular racking to eliminate the lees, during the ageing and slight filtration before bottling for an optimal presentation of the wine

I couldn't do my job without my husband Jean-Philippe Fort (consultant-oenologist for over 70 great growths of Bordeaux) for his precious advice. I work hard and have given up a quiet life purely to seek an optimal quality whatever the vintage."

Absolutely wonderful and compares well with more expensive St Emillion. Full of fruit and vanilla

4 stars

A nice full body wine with strong blackcurrent flavours and smooth tannins. Worth buying again.

I was keen to try this as we are going to St Emillion on Saturday for a short break.Initially it lived up to its name, but Its a good wine with a nice balance of fruit and minerals once it had settled down. Smooth and not at all tannic. Drunk it with roast beef both hot and cold and of course it went well. Overall I liked it but it wasn't strong on the wow factor. Hopefully I will have plenty of that at the weekend!
