Comment on: Domaine O'Vineyards O'Syrah 2005

Had this last night and loved it! As others have commented it really does need to be drunk with food, as the tannins would be overpowering otherwise. Lovely complex, peppery flavours (we decanbted it and left it for a good hour and a half). It didn't quite go with the duck we were eating (which may have been a bit fatty for it), but it was still a great weekend treat. Would definitely buy again for a special meal.

Not too bad - better on the second day, strangely. Not as full as I would've hoped. For the angel price though, a good mid week bottle.

This really benefits friom decanting, as it has lovely shiraz notes, but no real depth otherwise. I wanted to love it, as if you breath deeply the flavours are there, but you have to try very hard to find them

very good at Angel prices - smooth and easy to drink, though it doesn't pack a good Rioja punch, by any means. Doesn't last well to the next day. A nice mid-week drink though.

Comment on: Dusty Dog Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

hmm bit of a strange one this. The flavour's lovely - lots of berries and cherries, very smooth and easy to drink. But it's slightly fizzy and that's quite offputting. Since no-one else has mentioned it, it may be that I have a bad bottle, so I may return the rest I had in the case. It's a pity - a nice flavour is spolied by the effervescence. <br /> <br />I would say, however, that even without the weird sparkle, I'd say it's slightly overpriced.
