Comment on: D'Aquino Shiraz 2009
This has the signature smoothness of the d'Aquino Merlot in a shiraz... deep red, fruitiness, that works with or without food. One to add to the re-order list!

Comment on: Tor del Colle Biferno Riserva 2007
On the nose this has dark berry fruit & pepper. In the mouth it's full with fairly firm, food friendly, tannins. The tastes are of damsons & cherries, with the pepper coming through again. The finish is long, mouth filling & smooth.
This reminds me of a shiraz in many ways, a good thing for me. Another good value wine which is similar to the Tor Del Colle montepulciano but different enough to warrant a purchase. I'm looking forward to Alessandro's primitivo that I also bought in the same order because, yet again, he's delivered!
Cheers

A bit more subtle than the Angels Reserve Torrontes. More mellow, less in-your-face florality (is that even a word?).

It's OK. Fairly smooth but nothing particularly distinguishing about it.. Friends enjoyed it but not enough to warrant buying more.

It's OK. Quite fruity but not as smooth as I have become accustomed to. Thought it a bit pricey for what i is.

Loved it - if fact I'm reviewing it whilst still drinking it :-)
Surprisingly good since it's not a vintage wine - it has what I look for in a Shiraz - and at £7.99
