Comment on: Domaine de Labelle Les Terres Basses 2010
Fresh, dry and fruity. Went well with white fish.
Just missing that minerally edge I look for in a great white wine.

Comment on: Back Door Cape Monster Red 2005
With another monster red on the marketplace this week I thought it would be a good time to try this fella.
Decanted for eight hours the nose moved from alcohol to warm soft fruit.
Wonderfully complex, the balance is perfect. Fruit, oak, acidity and minerality working together to create a class act. Stick this with a lump of red meat and you're in for a treat.
Would love to know if this weeks marketplace offering is from the same stable because if it is then I'm getting two cases!

Hi dear Angels,
Here we are, in few more weeks ( closer to March 7th) we will be starting a new harvest, we will start with the Sauvignon Blanc, and after that all our reds, Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Syrah, Carignan and we will be picking grapes for at least a couple of months.
But, before harvest starts, we need to prepare the cellar to receive the new grapes and we will be bottling part of our wines 2011, and there is a great new! Because next month we will be bottling our first Carménère, and is The Carménère for the Winemaker of the year!
That means, you will be receiving this wine in the beginning of May!!!
The Carménère will be just 9.000 bottles, is a limited edition and we think will be a Great Wine!
Also we are bottling: Pinot Noir 2011 and our Cabernet Sauvignon-Carménère, great wines from a great vintage!
Hope you enjoy them!
Best Regards & Un fuerte Abrazo

Comment on: Kimbao Sauvignon Blanc 2011
The usual quality I've come to expect from the Kimbao range. Bright, vivacious, and thoroughly enjoyable. At this price, you'd be crazy not to...
Comment on: Tilia Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2011
Really enjoyed this. It had me giggling which is always a good sign. As with the Pinot Gris, I had no idea what to expect from a Solvenian Sauvignon. The nose offers fresh fruit and peach blossom, and hint of something tart. It's the taste in the palate that set me off - pear drops and peach yoghurt. Unmistakeably... Mrs Tim it has to be said agreed, and she is ALWAYS right. The sweetness of the fruit is well balanced with acidity. Not quite the lip smacking nature of some New World Sauvignon Blanc, but a well rounded does of tartness which is thoroughly pleasant.
As the blurb suggests, well paired with a risotto. The wine cuts through the rich creaminess of the dish.
Will definitely buy again.
