The fastest way for us to help you find the wines you'll love (and avoid the wines you won't ) is for you to spend 30 seconds to tell us about your wine tastes. We use these answers, together with your wine ratings to build a detailed profile of your personal tastes. We match your taste profile to our wines taste profile to find the wines that match. Even if it's a grape you don't know, from a place you don't know, made by a person you have never heard of. For example, if you tell us that you like Rioja, we have an Argentinean Malbec that you will adore. And a Spanish Grenache that will blow your socks off.

Let's face facts. If this is your first visit, you've probably never heard of us, our wines or our winemakers. So you might be wondering...

So I will try to answer these very reasonable questions

Who are naked wines and what are we all about?

My name is Rowan Gormley. I set up Naked Wines together with a delightful bunch of deranged, obsessive and passionate friends.

Our objective is to help you... Get Naked. Drink Better. Spend Less.

How do we do that? Simple. We cut out the only cost you can't taste (marketing). And we spend more on the stuff you can taste (wine).

The typical bottle of wine bought in the UK has only 30p of wine in it. And £1 of marketing

OR

The price you pay for your wine in the UK is made up of the cost of the wine (obviously), taxes and duty and marketing.

The bad news for small winemakers is that no matter how good their wines are, they don’t sell themselves (until we came along). So they have to either sell the wine to one of the big brands for peanuts. Or they have to buy a suit, an air ticket, and waste their time and money travelling the world selling their wines. So the price of the wine goes up. Which is bad news for you.

We want to change all that.

  1. We champion small independent producers, who are passionate about making great wine - and not so passionate about being salesmen
  2. We pay them a fair price (we often pay cash on the nail to help their cash flow)
  3. And we cut out all the crap between you and them, that you don’t want to pay for, and you can’t taste. Like shops. And mail order. And importers, wholesalers, agents and other assorted middlemen.

Are the wines worth a try?

Well, here's the thing. Our winemakers give us free wine to give to people who are going to support them by becoming Angels (we do ask you to pay the taxes and delivery).

So if you want to know where to start, start with those wines. Or if you prefer you can mix your own 6 or 12 bottle case, and buy the wines you want.
