What's this about?

The fastest way for us to help you find the wines you'll love (and avoid the wines you won't ) is for you to spend 30 seconds to tell us about your wine tastes. We use these answers, together with your wine ratings to build a detailed profile of your personal tastes. We match your taste profile to our wines taste profile to find the wines that match. Even if it's a grape you don't know, from a place you don't know, made by a person you have never heard of. For example, if you tell us that you like Rioja, we have an Argentinean Malbec that you will adore. And a Spanish Grenache that will blow your socks off.
I am passionate about Spanish wines. I travel to Spain several times a year where I do my best to try as many wines as possible. I also try to discover gems among those Spanish wines being sold in the UK.
For those interested I have published a book about the different wine producing regions in Spain, that can be downloaded for free from http://www.adelacasa.co.uk
I have created this group with the idea of sharing comments on Spanish wines, as well as recommendations, and anything else.

Bought some Duque de Castilla Tempranillo Reserve 2008 at Tesco Wines before Xmas and forgot about it. Found it in a corner of the kitchen today and loving it. Beautifully smooth and rich at the same time.

Had a very pleasant Falset 2005 (granache, carignan & syrah) d.o Mont Sant. Doubt if you keep much longer, but still had some good fruit and was quite soft. Lovely with our roast chicken tonight....... Baron de Ley, Club Privado 2006 with the cheese.....

Hacienda Don Hernan Tempranillo 2008

Fresh and easy to drinkw ll balanced rioja, a bit on the young side but pleasant.

Hacienda Don Hernan Winemakers Choice 2007

What can I say about this wine? It is a cosecha, the lowest grade in Rioja calification and one of the most amazing wines I have tried lately: when I opened the bottle I got lots of fresh red fruits on the nose and palate, 20 minutes later the complexity of it arrived to me: leather, vanilla, tobacco, red fruits and oak. Amazing. If I did not know it was just a cosecha I would have thought it was a really good reserva. Amazing wine! 4.5 points

Hacienda Don Hernan Crianza 2006

Lovely smooth wine, well balanced, full of fruits. Nice Crianza, wish I could try a reserva from them!

Lanzado Rioja Joven 2007

This is a decent rioja wine, well balanced, not too much oak and very easy to drink. I prefer wines a bit more heavier but with tapas or light meal (or on its own), this si a very nice wine.

Castillo de Tafalla Rosado 2008

Lovely refreshing rose, full of fruits and very easy to drink, nice!
