Suggestions please for Italian wines. Going to Sicily in February and would love any suggestions of wines, Naked or otherwise, as I really don't know Italian wines at all. I love heavy, dark reds, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, etc. Help appreciated, thanks.

The Back Door Orvieto is worth a go - a bit bland maybe but slips down nicely.
I'm also interested to see a back door Vermentino, haven't tried it yet but it is one of my favourites in Italy.

recent joiner to naked , love italian ,replaced pinot with gavi 2 years ago but recent vintage seems thin.

Right then. I feel passionately about this....WHERE ARE ALL THE WINES FROM FRIULI???

I want to see the following Friuli wines for sale on here …Cabernet Franc, Refosco (and barrique), Franconia, Merlot, Schioppettino, Pinot Bianco, and of course the wonderful desert wines Ramandalo and Passito…there are many more though, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

The wines from this region are amazing and mostly kept for the Italians themselves. If you haven’t heard of these wines you need to seek them out. I really think we’re missing out over here in the UK! I’m lucky, as I get to go over to NE Italy twice a year, as my girlfriend’s parents have a place out there in Tarcento, so I’m ok….

In the meantime I’m going to try and persuade our winemaking friends over there to use the site, or possibly introduce them to the NW team so we can all have the chance to try these amazing wines..
